Funny thing at Eagles games

Wow what a great weekend to be a Philadelphia sport fan. It was a football baseball double-header both days. Sat was Temple football followed by Phillies baseball, then Sunday Eagles football followed by Phillies baseball again. My friend did notice a strange thing at the Eagles games. They didn’t re-play any plays where something bad happened to the birds. Not the hit heard round the league on Jackson, not the 3 missed field goals by Akers nothing, nada. What’ going on are the Eagles trying to censor what the fans see/saw? What do you think about this new Gold Standard of lack of re-plays?

I guess I’m not surprised to learn the the winners of the WIP 610 tailgate party contest are getting practically nothing for winning the first week. It turns out they were offered 2 free drinks & snacks and a private room at Delilah’s den to watch the next Eagles away game. What a rip-off! The food and drinks at the tailgate party in the parking lot were better than what WIP 610 and Delilah’s offered. To make it worse they placed a video on WIP 610 where you can see how great the tailgate parties they visited were, check it out for yourself and see how great the tailgate parties they visited were WIP 610 LAMEO Contest Don’t be fooled by this contest as it runs the whole season.

Slot car racing in NJ

Time for the Garden State ISRA slot car race. Come to SpeedzoneNJ Raceway and start the slot car racing season on Sunday, September 26. Raceway opens at 8 AM. First race is at 10 AM. Here is the order of the classes and what track we will be racing on as well entry fees:

$6 – 1/32nd Production: Engleman banked track
$8 – Group 10: Engleman banked track
$10 – B Production: Jersey Devil Flat track
$12 – Open Group 12: Jersey Devil Flat track

*In Addition we have talked to Jay and Mike at Speedzone and after the regular scheduled Garden State classes, there will be a 1/24 Eurosport race, with a $100 cash payout! First will receive $50, second $30, and third $20! Eurosport will use Northeast ISRA Rules.

*There will also be a raffle for a brand new Group 10 roller provided by Robert Geibel, and built by Andrew. The raffle will be five dollars for five tickets and the money will go towards the end of the year point fund.

It’s going to be a great day of racing and we hope everyone had a great summer and is looking forward to kicking off the season as much as we are. We look forward to seeing everyone on Sunday, September 26!

Phillies Ticket & Tailgate Party

Phillies Road Trip to Washington

I couldn’t wait to see the Phillies new pitching ace Roy Halladay, so I took a bus trip to Washington DC. We had a blast and the Phillies kicked butt. I’m thinking about taking another road trip in June to Boston. It’s a great town and the Red Sox will probably be in the race for the playoffs, so this would be a preview of how well the Phillies will match up. Spring Has Sprung!

Well it’s officially spring and already I been to three flea markets. The first one I was a sell and it rained all day. Good thing it was indoors. We had just a so so day and traffic was light do to the rain but we met some nice people got rid of some old junk and made a little money. That’s what I love about flea markets, you experience them on many different levels. I can’t wait till Sunday as one of my local favorites opens an I have a list of things I’m looking for. You know what they say one mans trash is another treasure. That’s all for now hope to see you in the parking lot.

The Flea Markets will be out in Force!

It’s August and it’s a special time to be a bargain hunter, because this is prime time for flea markets. The worlds longest yard sale stretches from Alabama to Ohio kicks off this month. Man would I love to travel the 654 miles with a camper and a trailer to hold my treasures. My wife thinks I’m nuts and would rather spent the time at some resort rather they cruising the highway looking for treasures. I recently saw a as for a TV show called “Hoarders” which is going to explore peoples obsession with collecting everything. I think it airs Monday 8-17-09. I already told the wife not to plan anything that night. I wonder if these people can have their own show why not us! I mean I know plenty of people just like me who love to spent their Saturdays going from one yard sale to another. I think it would be fun to follow a “professional” flea marketer as they work their magic. They could follow several people or couples for six seven weeks filming what they do were they go and even try and answer the age old question. Why we do it. This is a reality show just begging to be made. Travel Channel are you listening. I wish I could find the business card of a film crew I bumped into in the parking lot outside a sports complex so I could find out how to pitch this idea. So what you think? Am I crazy or what? That’s all for now got start packing for this Saturday’s Giant Flea Market at a local social club. It’s close so I can make as many trips as need to fill up my space. Happy Treasure Hunting.

A Flea Market Service for the rest of us.

This weekend I was at one of my favorite flea markets. It’s in Sayorsburg PA. I like it because it’s huge so it draws a lot of vendors and people. As I was trolling the isles looking for a vendor who had Star Wars toys that my son had see on our last trip, I was struck by how many times I saw something and said, oh so and so would like that. I even called one of my best customers about some items that I know he would be interested in. I starting thinking would people be interested in a live broadcast from the flea market! I mean we have the technology and after all I’m out there almost every weekend checking different markets. I love to hear if people would be interested in a service where they could tune in via there computer and watch live while I stroll the markets. If someone saw something interesting they could send me a IM to stop and take a close look. If they like it they could message the price they are willing to pay and watch me haggle for them. If I close the deal they could send payment via PayPal and then make arrangement to pick up their prize. I think I’m going to post some information on my website Sidsellsit.com/garage about signing up for the service.It would be a great way to expand your search without having to spent the time and gas to go. There are only so many hours in the day and there are so many flea markets out there. Please sent me comments about the idea and let me know if would be interested is seeing some of my favorite haunts. Here some pictures I took at various markets.
